Hello my friends!!
It's a little bit busy right now... Currently school is just a waste of time...
But let's talk about something else. Yesterday I started with a new project. I started knitting a baktus. I don't know if you know what a baktus is or if baktus means in english the same as in german. A baktus is a very easy knitted shawl.
I use a white merino superwash to knit with needles nr. 4. I use needles with the number 6.5, so the shawl get's a little bit loose. At the end I want to have a not to tight knitted shawl as the birthday present for my mum. I don't want that the shawl get's to thick because spring is coming and having a thick wooly thing around your neck when it's warm is not so fine... :D
As you can see I started a cable stitch which I want to go through the whole shawl. I'm doing the cable stitch with 3 ribs, so it get's a little bit bigger than just with 2 but doesn't get's to big, that it appears to bulky...
Between the work: a cup of coffee...
And then a little bit of playing with yarn...
Do you see the little ball of yarn and the tiny needles??
I had a little bit of yarn left over and then the idea of making a small ball of yarn with some cute mini needles came to my mind...
So sweet... :D
And yes, that's it...
I wish you a nice day!!!

I love wool, too, and have even used a drop spindle to make my own yarn with some Churro roving I bought from a farm in North Carolina, USA. They combed it for me. I am a beginning knitter but an avid crocheter. I like weaving on my lap loom with my hand-spun wool. Have you tried weaving? I think you'd like it.
AntwortenLöschenHi!!!
AntwortenLöschenOh yes, I already tried to spin with a selfmade drop spindle and it's really fascinating!
The next thing I want to do is spinning with a spinning wheel, I just need to find one... :D
I don't have a professional weaving loom, but I already weaved with some different techniques (a loom for children, made out of cardboard, made out of some staves)...
I really like working with wool, making your hand - spun yarn and then using it to knit or crochet something useful...
Greetings
